Duties and Responsibilities:
Providing circulation desk coverage, acting as the backup to the Circulation Supervisor for billed items, blocked accounts, and lost/damaged/overdue items; processing loans, returns, renewals, holds, and patron registration; handling financial transactions for fines/printing, assisting with machine and technology use; providing basic reference services; assisting with catalog and database searches; process, verifying and screening Interlibrary Loan (ILL) requests; receiving/returning ILL materials; interpreting and applying library policies and ensure compliance with copyright, licensing and lending restrictions; administering the automated ILL System and maintaining operations by installing updates; troubleshooting errors; administering ILL processes and workflows; managing ILL accounts payable/receivable; training and supporting ILL staff; and other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications and Experience:
Applicants must have a two (2) – three (3) year college diploma, preferably a Library or Information Technology diploma and at least three years related work experience in an academic library setting, or an equivalent combination of education and experience are required.

The successful applicant must have excellent research skills, knowledge of academic library databases, strong attention to detail, excellent customer service orientation, creative problem solving and critical thinking skills, an understanding of ongoing developments that impact ILL and the capability to cope with change effectively. To be successful, the applicant must have the ability to work successfully with a team, and independently. Efficiency with computer programs such as Microsoft Office, library catalogues and databases, and experience with national library and interlibrary loan organizations and systems are required. Experience with Relais is desirable. Knowledge of a second language is an asset.
