Job Description
The Office of the Vice-Provost, Innovations in Undergraduate Education (OVPIUE) supports institutional initiatives that enhance the educational experience of students in the University’s seven direct-entry undergraduate academic divisions. The OVPIUE is one in a range of Vice-Provostial offices that support the University’s Vice-President & Provost oversee the academic activities and operating budgets of the Tri-Campus academic divisions.

The OVPIUE now directly administers, advises, or partners on a number of critical institutional programs and services including, but not limited to:

– Enterprise-level educational technology systems, platforms, and projects (Learning Management System, learning analytics, student academic success analytics and reporting, course information system);

– Institutional systems and initiatives relating to experiential learning and undergraduate research;

The Office of the Vice-Provost, Innovations in Undergraduate Education has launched a user-friendly virtual that serves as a central hub for introducing students to available resources, supports and services at our institution as it relates to Experiential Learning (EL) and co-curricular engagement. This virtual gateway (Folio) will play a crucial role in enhancing the overall student experience by providing easy access to essential information and services.

We are seeking the expertise of an individual with graphic design skills to ensure the site is visually appealing, intuitive, engaging, AODA compliant and meets the diverse needs of our student body.

Responsibilities:
– Collaborate with cross-functional teams to conceptualize and create visually stunning designs for the Folio platform, including sites and resources.
– Develop intuitive site architectures and user flows that enhance usability and drive engagement.
– Translate business requirements and user needs into elegant and effective design solutions.
– Design and optimize user interfaces, ensuring consistency across all digital touchpoints.
– Create wireframes, prototypes, and mockups to communicate design concepts and gather feedback.
– Conduct usability testing and iterate on designs based on user feedback and data insights.
– Be up to date on best practices in graphic design, user experience (UX), web development and AODA principles.

Requirements:
– Expertise as a graphic designer, with a strong portfolio showcasing creative and impactful designs.
– Proficiency in graphic design tools.
– Solid understanding of web design principles, including responsive design and mobile optimization.
– Experience in developing site architectures and user flows, with a focus on enhancing usability and user experience.
– Familiarity with software as a service (SaaS) products and an understanding of the SaaS business model.
– Strong HTML coding skills and system-based configuration skills.
– Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
– Detail-oriented with a passion for creating visually appealing and user-friendly designs.
– Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.
– Ability to work collaboratively and as part of a team.
– Some knowledge of the University of Toronto would be an asset.
