Librarian Internship provides current and recently-graduated Library & Information Science students with hands-on experience in hospital librarianship.
Interns will receive training and support from a librarian in order to assist patients and staff. Additionally, interns will work in collaboration with their supervisor to conduct a project depending on their area of expertise and interest and the needs of the Centre.
The Internship Program 2023
You would work in the Patient & Family Resource Centre, Wilson site. The Centre provides information services for patients, family members and staff.
Areas of work
Gain work experience in and knowledge of:
- Databases searching skills and training
- Implementing the new library online catalogue
- Promoting library’s products and services to patients and staff
- Creating digital displays on disease prevention
Eligibility
Must be currently enrolled in a Master of Library Science (MLS) or equivalent program.
Have an interest in Consumer information / Medical library
Possess good interpersonal skills

*Please note this is an UNPAID Internship, approximately 10 hours per week.
