Bits&BIPOC

Submitted on Thursday, February 02, 2023

Written, designed and published by Lorena Almaraz De La Garza for an MI reading course, Bits&BIPOC is a socio-technical learning guide on data, algorithms, machine learning and AI. It is geared toward young Black, Indigenous, and People of Colour in Canada, encouraging them to engage in the ongoing technology regulation debate.

To do this, Bits&BIPOC provides relevant examples that uncover the social implications of emerging technologies, and builds a familiarity with the technical language and current regulation in a straightforward way. Download and read the guide
